What information do you gather automatically from visitors?

What information will you ask me for?
When you register to use the Whispers4u service you will be asked for some general identifying information which will enable us to provide you with this personalised service. We gather contact information like your email address, name, demographic information(like your city of residence and age.
We will only use this information in the course of providing our service to you. Your email address and name cannot be seen by other members so you remain completely anonymous until such a time that you feel you have built up enough trust with someone to share this information with them.
Once you have registered, you will be given the option of creating an Identity (ad and personal profile), the information in you profile will include such non-personally identifiable information such as interests, hobbies etc. This information is not linked in any way to your personally identifiable information, that other members see.
How will this information be used and who has access to it?
We use your contact information to send you valuable updates and timely notices of mailbox status reports and notices of potential contacts. The specific information we collect is not shared with other organizations without your explicit consent and is only ever disclosed in situations where required by law. We will never release your personally identifiable information to an external organization without your prior consent.
Your demographic (non-identifying) information is used to: personalize your experience, allow other members to find you through a search result; compose your personal profile, which is associated with an identity you have created. Your contact information is never available to other members or organizations.
In the event that you decide to become a full member of Whispers4u, you will be asked for your financial information (like credit card number and expiry date), which is encrypted via a secure server and sent to a third party intermediary (PayPal) for processing. This information is used to bill you for those products or services which you choose to purchase. Before entering your financial information, you will be transferred to a secure server to ensure that your transaction is secure. This ensures that your information is encrypted and cannot be read by others when you initiate your order. You will know you are in secure mode when the tiny padlock icon - located at the bottom of your browser - appears "locked."
